INSPECTION

1. Inspect:
•
Spider 1
•
Sliding sheave 2
•
Fixed sheave 3
•
Primary sheave cap 4
Cracks/damage → Replace.
2. Inspect:
•
Primary sheave spring 1
Cracks/damage → Replace.
3. Measure:
•
Primary sheave spring free length a
Out of specification → Replace the primary
sheave spring.
Primary sheave spring free length a:
VX700/VX700DX:
89.0 mm (3.50 in)
SX700:
89.4 mm (3.52 in)
MM700:
91.4 mm (3.60 in)
VT700:
83.4 mm (3.28 in)
NOTE:
When changing the primary sheave springs, refer to
"GEAR SELECTION" in CHAPTER 2.
4. Inspect:
•
Primary sheave cap bush 1
•
Sliding sheave bush 2
Cracks/damage → Replace.
