This function requires the optional UT-125

q Push [Encryption] or [Scrambler/Encryption] to turn the
Encryption function ON.

10-key types only)
w Push [Encryption] or [Scrambler/Encryption] again to
turn the Encryption function OFF.
• " " (for Handhelds) or " " (for Mobiles) disappears. (Simple and
10-key types only)
With Non-display types whose revision number is 1.7 or
later, when an encrypted signal is received, the LED indi-
cator lights orange.
D Selecting the CKR (Common Key Reference)
The CKR has an encryption key for the secure voice com-
munication.
• This function is usable with transceivers whose revision number is
3.0.0 or later.
q Push [CKR Select] to enter the CKR selection mode.
w Push [CH Up]/[CH Down] or [CH Up/Down] to select a
desired CKR.
e Push [CKR Select] to set the selected CKR.
D Key Fail Indication

. The Encryption
The transceiver displays "Key Fail" for the preset time period
when the CKR of the selected channel is not stored in the
encryption unit.
(Simple and 10-key types only)
D Decryption Multi Keys function
When this function is enabled, the transceiver releases the
mute after receiving the audio signals for decryption, even if
the CKR setting is not matched to the selected channel.
