Multicast data fails to reach receivers
Symptom
No multicast packets can cross a multicast boundary set with the multicast boundary command.
Analysis
If you have configured a multicast forwarding boundary by using the multicast boundary command, any
multicast packet will be kept from crossing the boundary.
Solution
Use the display pim routing-table command to verify that the corresponding (S, G) entries exist on
1.
each router. If so, routers have received the multicast data. Otherwise, routers have not received
the data.
Use the display multicast boundary command to display multicast boundary information on the
2.
interfaces. Use the multicast boundary command to change the multicast forwarding boundary
setting.
If the multicast data travels in PIM-SM network, use the display current-configuration command to
3.
check BSR and RP information.
