An acoustic warning signal will indicate that the
lever has been properly closed. If the lever is low-
ered without a capsule having been inserted, when
one of the keys for brewing espresso is pressed, an
acoustic signal will be emitted, the pressed key will
start blinking for three seconds and the following
symbol will appear on the display:
Press the free espresso dose brewing key to start
3
brewing. Once the desired quantity of espresso has
been obtained, press the key again to terminate
brewing.
While espresso is being brewed, the key used will light
up and start blinking and the icon corresponding with
the key that has been used will appear on the display.
When the brewing operation is concluded, the same
key will remain switched on: initially blinking and then
with a steady light, indicating that the machine is
ready for use.

SETTING ESPRESSO DOSES

Dosage setting is always performed using the same
key; any intervention using the other key will be ig-
nored. The set quantity of brewed espresso (minimum
20 cc) can be modified by repeating the setting opera-
tion. If a dose smaller than 20 cc is set, the machine will
in any case record the value of 20 cc.
Carry out steps 1, 2, in the BREWING A FREE ES-
PRESSO DOSE section.
Press and keep pressed one of the two espresso
3
brewing keys for at least 3 seconds. The key selected
will start blinking and the machine will emit three
sounds which indicate the start of the setting pro-
cedure. At this point release the key.

PREPARING ESPRESSO

Once the desired quantity of espresso has been ob-
4
tained, interrupt brewing by pressing the previously
used key again. The machine will emit three sounds,
which indicate that the setting operation has been
completed.
-
If setting operations do not occur within the maximum
time of 1' 50", the machine will automatically interrupt
brewing, the brewing key will start blinking and the last
dosage value set will be saved in the memory of the
machine. If a mains power failure occurs during dos-
age setting, the last value set will be saved.

BREWING A PRESET DOSE OF ESPRESSO

Carry out steps 1, 2, in the BREWING A FREE ES-
PRESSO DOSE section.
Press one of the two espresso brewing keys (if set).
3
The selected key will start blinking. The machine will
automatically stop brewing once the set dose of es-
presso has been obtained. Your espresso will now
be ready.
When the key returns to the steady switched on
state, the machine is ready for further brewing op-
erations.
If anomalies arise during espresso brewing with preset
doses, the machine will continue the brewing opera-
tion in the free-dose mode. Brewing can be stopped by
pressing the key again.

REMOVAL OF USED CAPSULES

Alternating blinking of the selection keys and an
acoustic signal indicate that the used-capsules tray
is full and will have to be emptied.
