n Battery cautions
Msuse of Lthum-Ion batteres may result n the followng
hazards: smoke, fire, or the battery may rupture. Msuse
can also cause damage to the battery or degradaton of
battery performance.
• R DANGER! Use and charge only specfied Icom battery
pack wth Icom transcever. Only Icom battery pack s test-
ed and approved for use wth Icom transcever. Usng thrd-
party or counterfet battery packs may cause smoke, fire, or
cause the battery to burst.
D Battery caution
• R DANGER! DO NOT hammer or otherwse mpact the
battery. Do not use the battery f t has been severely m-
pacted or dropped, or f the battery has been subjected to
heavy pressure. Battery damage may not be vsble on the
outsde of the case. Even f the surface of the battery does
not show cracks or any other damage, the cells nsde the
battery may rupture or catch fire.
• R DANGER! NEVER use or leave battery pack n areas
wth temperatures above +60˚C. Hgh temperature buld-
up n the battery, such as could occur near fires or stoves,
nsde a sun-heated car, or by settng the battery n drect
sunlght may cause the battery to rupture or catch fire. Ex-
cessve temperatures may also degrade battery perfor-
mance or shorten battery lfe.

BATTERY CHARGING

• R DANGER! DO NOT expose the battery to ran, snow,
seawater, or any other lquds. Do not charge or use a wet
battery. If the battery gets wet, be sure to wpe t dry before
usng. The battery by tself s not waterproof.
• R DANGER! NEVER ncnerate a used battery pack snce
nternal battery gas may cause a rupture or exploson.
• R DANGER! NEVER solder the battery termnals, or
NEVER modfy the battery pack. Ths may cause heat gen-
eraton, and the battery may rupture, emt smoke or catch
fire.
• R DANGER! Use the battery only wth the transcever for
whch t s specfied. Never use a battery wth any other
equpment, or for any purpose that s not specfied n ths n-
structon manual.
• R DANGER! If flud from nsde the battery gets n your
eyes, blndness can result. Rnse your eyes wth clean
water, wthout rubbng them, and see a doctor mmedate-
ly.
• R WARNING! Immedately stop usng the battery f t emts
an abnormal odor, heats up, or s dscolored or deformed. If
any of these condtons occur, contact your Icom dealer or
dstrbutor.
• R WARNING! Immedately wash, usng clean water, any
part of the body that comes nto contact wth flud from n-
sde the battery.
