Checking the Coolant Level

Service Interval: Before each use or daily
The cooling system is filled with a 50/50 solution of water
and permanent ethylene glycol antifreeze. Check the level
of coolant in the radiator and the expansion tank at the
beginning of each day before starting the engine. The cooling
system capacity is 5.5 L (5.8 US qt).
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the coolant may
be hot and pressurized. If you open the radiator
cap when the coolant is hot, it could spray out and
severely burn you or bystanders.
Allow the engine to cool for at least 15 minutes
before opening the radiator cap.
1. Position the sprayer on a level surface.
2. Set the parking brake, stop the pump, stop the engine,
and remove the ignition key.
3. Carefully remove the radiator cap and the expansion
tank cap (Figure 54).

expansion tank.
Note: The radiator should be filled to the top of the
filler neck and the expansion tank filled to the Full
mark.
5. If coolant level is low, remove the expansion tank cap
and the radiator cap, and fill expansion tank to the Full
mark and the radiator to the top of the filler neck.
