Replacing the Pump Drive Belt

Service Interval: Every 100 hours—Check the pump
drive belt.
1. Disengage the PTO and set the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. Remove the mower deck belt.
4. Tilt the machine on it's back. Refer to
Pre-Maintenance at the beginning of the
Maintenance Section.
5. Disconnect the clutch wire connector from the wire
harness.
6. Disconnect the clutch retainer from the engine deck
(Figure 62).

7. Unhook the idler spring from the frame (Figure 62).
8. Install the new belt around clutch and the two pump
pulleys.
9. Install the idler spring between idler arm and frame
bracket (Figure 62).
10. Install the clutch retainer to the engine deck
(Figure 62).
11. Connect the clutch wire connector to the wire
harness.
12. Lower the machine to the operating position.
Refer to Pre-Maintenance at the beginning of the
Maintenance Section.
13. Install the mower deck belt.
