Oil Pressure Warning Light
The oil pressure warning light (Figure 20) glows when the oil
pressure in engine drops below a safe level. If low oil pressure
ever occurs, stop the engine and determine the cause. Repair
the damage before starting the engine again.
Lift Lock Lever
Lock the lift switch (Figure 20), in the raised position, when
performing maintenance on the deck or when transporting
between mowing locations.

Operation

This machine produces sound levels in excess of 85
dBA at the operators ear and can cause hearing loss
through extended periods of exposure.
Wear hearing protection when operating this
machine.
Adequate rear weight is necessary to prevent the
rear wheels from leaving the ground. Do not stop
suddenly while deck or implement is raised. Do not
travel down hill with the deck or implement raised.

Checking the Engine Oil Level

The engine is shipped with oil in the crankcase; however, the
oil level must be checked before and after the engine is first
started.
The crankcase capacity is approximately 3.8 liters (4 quarts)
with the filter. Use high-quality engine oil that meets the
following specifications:

distributor in either 15W-40 or 10W-30 viscosity. See the
parts catalog for part numbers.
