Error indications and possible remedies:

The system cannot be turned on.
The battery will not charge.
No Motorised Support.
(sMMI in operation, but motor support
unavailable)
Recuperation / hill climbing system is not
working.
The assistance levels cannot be changed
whilst standing idle.
The motor is not achieving maximum output.
The display shows the symbol for the service
reminder, (section 3.2.11).

• Is the battery correctly inserted in it's holder?
• Are all the plugs connected correctly?
• Are there ant deposits, (e.g.metal filings), on the magnetic plug
on the battery?
• Note: Please check this carefully.
• Is the battery activated?
• After 48 hours of non-use the battery goes into standby mode
and needs to be reactivated by pressing the battery button.
• Has the sMMI lock been activated during servicing?
• Note: The sMMI only works with the designated motor, (see
section 3.2.14).
• Do the contacts of the sMMI spring back properly?
• Check this by using your fingers and pressing each each pin
individually into the dock. Each pin should spring back. Treat
sticking pins with contact spray.
• Are there ant deposits, (e.g.metal filings), on the magnetic plug
on the battery charger?
• Note: Please check this carefully.
• Is the ambient temperature higher than 0°C?
• Note; Below 0°C the battery charger will not charge the battery.
Alway charge the battery at room temperature.
• Follow the detail of the charging process, in particular the fualt
codes in the charger operating manual.
• Check the motor cable and plug are correctly aligned, (section
4.1).
• Does the display show an error message?
• If so, follow the relevant reccomendationsin section 3.2.11.
• Was the start up routine obseved for the light? (section 3.2.3).
• Is the system permanently in recuperation mode?
• If so, check the switch on the rear wheel brake lever is fitted
correctly, (sMMI with brake cable only).
• Is the sMMI correctly fitted on the dock, (section 3.1).
• Is the battery capacity more than 90%?
• Note: Recuperation only works when the battery is at 90% or
more.
• Is the current travelling speed less than 15 km/h?
• Note: Recuperation only works above 15 km/h.
• Is the current travelling speed more than 28 km/h?
• Note: Recuperation is not available above 28 km/h.
• You have activated the pushing aid in the menu.
• As soon as you step onto the pedals you will be able to select the
assistance levels.
• Alternatively, you can deactivate the pushing aid via the menu,
(section 3.2.7).
• It is possible that the scooter is in high temperature range.
• When the motor becomes hotter than 80C, performance is
gradually reduced.
• Leave the motor to cool down for about 10 minutes in a cool
shaded area, then try again.
• Battery discharged.
• As the battery voltage decreases the perfomance/maximum
speed also drops.
• The speed difference between a fully charged battery and a
nearly discharged battery can be in the region of 2-3 km/h.
• Charge the battery as soon as you can.
• You may continue to use your bike normally, but please arrange
for your authorised dealer to service it at your earliest
convenience.
• After servicing they will reset the display.
