Poor draught
Check that the length of the chimney complies with national
legislation and regulatory requirements. (For further
information, see 2.0 Technical Data and 4.0 Installation
(Chimney and fl ue pipe).)
Check that the minimum cross section of the chimney is
in accordance with the specifi cation in 2.0 Technical Data.
Make sure that there is nothing preventing the smoke from
escaping: branches, trees, etc.
Seek professional advice and help if you suspect that the
chimney is not drawing properly (too much/too little
draught).
The fi re dies out after a while
Make sure that the fuel is dry enough.
Check whether there is negative pressure in the house. Turn
off fans and open a window close to the stove.
Make sure the air vent is open.
Make sure the smoke outlet is not clogged with soot.
If there is excessive soot on the glass
There will always be some soot on the glass, but the amount
depends on:
How dry the fuel is.
The local draught conditions.
Adjustment of the air vent.
Most of the soot layer will normally be burned off when the
air vent is fully opened and the fi re is burning briskly.

10.0 Warranty

The external castings are covered by a ten-year warranty against
defects resulting from faulty material and/or workmanship
after initial purchase/installation. The warranty applies only on
the condition that the fi replace has been installed in compliance
with current laws and regulations and in compliance with
installation and operating instructions.
The warranty does not cover:
The installation of optional extras, for example, to rectify
local draught conditions, air supply or other circumstances
beyond the manufacturer's control. The warranty does not
cover consumables, such as burn plates, smoke baffl es, fi re
grates, bottom grates, brick refractories, dampers and gaskets
as they deteriorate over time due to normal wear and tear.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by the use of
unsuitable fuel, such as driftwood, impregnated and painted
wood, plank off cuts, chipboard, etc. Overheating may easily
occur if unsuitable fuel is used, i.e. the fi replace becomes red
hot, which causes the paint to discolour and castings to crack.
The warranty does not cover damage caused while the product
is in transit from the distributor to the delivery address. Nor
does it cover damage caused by the use of non-original parts.
