2. Measure:
9 Side clearance
Out of specification → Replace the
piston and piston rings as a set.
Side clearance:
Top ring a a :
0.013 ~ 0.035 mm
(0.0005 ~ 0.0013 in)
2nd ring b b :
0.02 ~ 0.04 mm
(0.001 ~ 0.002 in)
NOTE:
Measure the clearance at a few different
points.

Crankshaft inspection

1. Measure:
9 Crankshaft runout
Out of specification → Replace the
crankshaft.
Crankshaft runout limit:
0.03 mm (0.0012 in)

Crankshaft journal oil clearance

1. Measure:
9 Crankcase journal oil clearance
Out of specification → Replace the
bearings as a set.
Crankshaft journal oil clearance:
0.012 ~ 0.045 mm
(0.0005 ~ 0.0018 in)
