Step 5 Glow Plug and Starter
Attach the glow igniter to the glow plug. Start the engine by pulling the starter cord in
short pulls (no longer than 12"max). Remove the glow igniter as soon as the engine is
running.
Remove glow plug igniter as soon as the engine is running. If the glow plug igniter is
left connected while the engine is running, it will drain the battery and damage the glow
plug.
Conecte el calentador de bujía. Arranque el motor tirando del arrancador con tirones
cortos (no mas de 30 cm.) Retire el calentador en cuanto el motor arranque.
Si deja el calentador conectado con el motor en marcha puede gastar la batería y dañar
la bujía.

The engine must never be run without the air filter in place.

Step 6 Break In Rodaje
HPI engines will feel tight at the top of their stroke when they are new or when they have not reached

their normal operating temperatures. The piston and cylinder sleeves are designed to achieve proper
running tolerances when they are properly broken in and are operating at the correct temperature. New
engines need a break in period of about 3 to 4 tanks of fuel before they can be run at full throttle, if not the
engine could be damaged. Break in should be performed on a flat level surface.
Los motores HPI dan sensación de estar clavados al final del recorrido del pistón cuando es nuevo y
aun no han rodado a su temperatura de uso. El cilindro y el pistón están diseñados para mantener las
tolerancias cuando han sido correctamente rodados y trabajan a su temperatura. Los motores nuevos
necesitan 3 o 4 depósitos de combustible antes de poder rodar a máxima velocidad, si no se realiza el
rodaje el motor puede dañarse.
After the engine starts, let it run with the wheels off the ground for one tank of fuel.

After the first tank, drive the car in a circle at half throttle for two tanks of fuel.
Una vez arrancado el motor, deje consumir un deposito con las rueda girando en el aire.
Después de este primer deposito consuma dos depósitos mas rodando en círculos.

New engines need a break in period of about 3 to 4 tanks of fuel before they can be
run at full throttle, if not the engine could be damaged. If the air filter falls off, you
must stop the engine immediately.
Los motores nuevos necesitan un rodaje de 3 o 4 depósitos antes de poder acelerar
al máximo, si no realiza el rodaje el motor puede estropearse. Si el filtro de aire se
suelta detenga el motor inmediatamente.

Use a Rag Usando un trapo
Use a rag to cover the exhaust tip. This
will stop the engine. Be careful! The
exhaust is extremely hot so be sure to
use a thick rag.
