For metal, use only fl awless, sharpened
drills; for stone and concrete, only masonry
drills with hard metal inserts.
Always adapt the speed to the material to be
worked and the diameter of the drill. For pre-
cision working with metal and wood, place
the machine in a drill stand (accessory).
Sharpening the chisels
Good results are only achieved with sharp
chisels, therefore sharpen the chiselling
tools in due time. This prolongs the service
life of the tools and ensures good working
performance.
Sharpen chiselling tools with grinding wheels
(e.g. ceramic bonded corundum wheel) with
a steady supply of water. Standard values
for this are shown in the illustrated instruc-
tions – see fi gure [4]. Take care that no
annealing colouration appears on the cut-
ting edges, otherwise the hardness of the
chiselling tools will be impaired.

10 Maintenance

- The unit should be stored in a dry place
where it is protected against freezing.
- Before any work on the machine itself,
pull the mains plug!
- Always keep the ventilation slots clean.
- The cable may only be replaced in a spe-
cialised electrical workshop qualifi ed to
perform such work.
- Wipe off the accessible plastic parts regu-
larly with a cloth without cleaning agent.
- After heavy use over a long period, the
machine should be taken to a service
location for an inspection and thorough
cleaning.
- Replacing brushes: Worn carbon brush-
es should be replaced by an authorised
customer service organisation.
11 Environmental
Protection / Disposal
Power tools, accessories and packaging
should be sorted for environmental-friendly
recycling.
Only for EC countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into
household waste!
18
According to the European Directive
2002/96/EC on waste electrical and elec-
tronic equipment and its incorporation into
national law, power tools that are no longer
suitable for use must be separately collect-
ed and sent for recovery in an environmen-
tal-friendly manner.
