Screwing
The screw adapter [3-2] (accessory) can
hold screw bits.
Commercially available bits with a hexago-
nal dimension of 6.3 mm or 1/4" (DIN 3126,
Form C) can be used. The screw-bits are
held in the adapter with a spring ring.
Therefore, use only bits with a notch.
Set the operation mode switch [2-1] to
drilling.
c) Adjusting the chisel
The chisel can now be turned by hand to
the required working position.
The chisel latches automatically as soon
as it is radially loaded by the working or
chiselling process.
d) Chiselling
CAUTION
Wear protective glasses and hearing
protection.
► Do not apply too much pressure. The per-
formance is not increased by doing so.
► The most effective method for chiselling is
to break out only small pieces of material.

► Drilling and cutting instruments are
clamped with the SDS-plus system with-
out using bracket wrenches.

7.1 Inserting tools

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug!
Clean and lightly grease the tool shaft.
Pull back the unlocking sleeve [3-1]. Insert
the tool while turning into the tool holder
until it latches. Release the unlocking collar.
Check whether the tool is fi rmly seated.
Take care that the dust protection cap is
not damaged.
WARNING
Replace damaged dust protection
caps!

7.2 Removing tools

Slide the unlocking sleeve [3-1] to the rear
and pull out the tool.

Accessories

WARNING
Before carrying out any work on the
machine, pull the mains plug.
All common drill chucks with 1/2" × 20 UNF
internal threads (13 mm max. chuck open-
ing) can be used. The drill chuck is mounted
on the screw adapter [3-2] (accessories)
for screw-bits.
8.1 Screw adapter assembly
(accessory)
Retract the unlocking sleeve [3-1].
Insert the screw adapter [3-2] into the tool
holder [3-3] while rotating.
Release the unlocking sleeve.
Check the interlock by pulling the screw
adapter.

8.2 Thread chuck

Inserting
Clean the thread on the drill chuck (ac-
cessory) and on the screw adapter [3-2]
(accessory).
Screw the drill chuck [3-4] onto the adapter
[3-2].
Set the operation type switch [2-1] to the
cutting function so that the chuck could be
tightened while applying a 40Nm force. Then
switch the switch to the cutting function.
Removing
Pull the unlocking sleeve [3-1] backwards
and remove the drill chuck [3-4] with the
screw adapter [3-2].
If required, fi rst screw the drill chuck [3-4]
from the screw adapter [3-2].

Practical tips

Do not drill into hidden electri-
cal lines or gas and water pipes.
Check the area to be worked
with a metal detector, for example, before
starting.
