Turn on the door switch using the door switch jig.

Turn on the main switch while pressing the "0" and "5" keys at the same time. The following display
appears indicating that the adjustment mode has been entered.

Use the digital keys to input the adjustment code (38, 39, 40 or 43) and then press the PRINT key.
The following display will appear and the drum will rotate, and the charging transformer will be
turned on with the discharge lamp on. However the adjustment code 43 is only the input of adjust-
ment value A.

Check the reading of the digital tester:
• –635V ±5V for the main charger
• –1.95V ±0.2V for the transfer charger
• AC 2.80V ±0.3V (true RMS) or AC 2.52V ±0.3V (average voltage) for the separation charger
• DC –100V ±5V for the developer bias. (Use the code 38 for the output check, and the code 43 for
the input of the adjustment value A.
If adjustment is necessary, change the value A using the ZOOM keys.

When the measurements are completed, press the INTERRUPT key to stop the drum rotation,
extinguish the discharge lamp and turn off the charger transformer. Also the value in A is stored in
the BC-RAM. The following display will appear:

[Note: When separation output is adjusted]
If pockmarks occur on halftone copies, reduce the separation output. If poor separation of paper from the
drum occurs or when the user normally uses thin paper, increase the separation output. But be careful not to
increase or decrease the separation output excessively.
