4.3) Oil top up
If necessary, top up the oil as follows:
Remove the battery, place the tool in a vertical
position, remove the cap (24) located inside the
battery housing, fi ll the reservoir to the top then
replace the cap.
Always use clean recommended oil, see § 1.
Do not use old or recycled oil.
Do not use hydraulic brake fl uid.
4.4) Blade replacement
(Ref. to Figs. 4 and 5)
After extended use, the blades may lose their cutting edge.
Replace the blades as follows:
4.4.1) Lower blade: (Ref. to Fig. 5)
– Remove locking pin (04) and open tool head.
– Operate the tool to advance the lower blade (14) until spring pins (16 and 41) are visible
on the ram (06).
– Remove spring pins (16 and 41) using a drift and remove the lower blade.
– Insert the new blade and secure with spring pins.
Warning: before closing the tool head release the oil pressure and retract the lower
blade, otherwise the head may hit the lower blade edge and damage it.
4.4.2) Upper blade: (Ref. to Fig. 4)
– With the lower blade (14) fully retracted, the tool head closed and the locking pin (04)
fully secured, hold the tool on the blade spacer (08) or (13) in a bench vice (see fi g. 4).
– By an 8 mm wrench, unscrew 4-set pins (03),remove the two holding plates (02) and
the upper blade (09) noting the position of the cutting edge bevel.
– Insert the new blade, noting the position of the cutting edge bevel.
– Fit the 2 holding plates (02) and secure with 4-set pins (03).
5. RETURN TO Cembre FOR OVERHAUL
In the case of a breakdown contact our Area Agent who will advise you on the problem
and give you the necessary instructions on how to dispatch the tool to our nearest service
Centre; if possible, attach a copy of the Test Certifi cate supplied by Cembre together
with the tool or, if no other references are available, indicate the approximate purchase
date and the tool serial number.
