Setting the unit before
use
Display language
You can select either "English" or
"Français" as the display language.
The default setting is "English".

"Français" as the voice guidance
language.

Dialing mode
If you cannot make calls, change this
setting depending on your telephone line
service. The default setting is "Tone".
"Tone": For tone dial service.
"Pulse": For rotary pulse dial service.

Date and time
Set the correct date and time. When you
play back a message from the answering
system (page 34), the unit announces the
day and time it was recorded.

Enter the current month, day, and year
by selecting 2 digits for each.
Example: August 15, 2006

Enter the current hour and minute (12-
hour clock format) by selecting 2 digits
for each.
Example: 9:30

Press {AM/PM} to select "AM" or "PM".

Note:
L When English is selected as the display
language, the 12-hour clock format is
used. When French is selected, the 24-
hour clock format is used.
L If you make a mistake when entering the
date and time, press {<}, {>}, {^}, or
{V} to move the cursor, then make the
correction.
