TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Engine does not start
The starter won't turn
Starting difficult or loss of power
Uneven running
Engine overheats
Mower vibrates excessively

Probable cause
1. No gas.
2. Throttle lever is in "SLOW" position.
3. The ignition key is on "STOP" position.
4. Spark plug cord incorrectly attached or
disconnected.
5. Spark plug defective or incorrect gap.
6. Engine flooded.
7. The fuse is blown.
1. The battery is discharged.
2. The battery is disconnected.
3. The fuse is blown.
1. Impurities in gas tank.
2. Air cleaner dirty.
3. Water in gas tank and in carburetor.
4. Gas tank filler cap vent and/or carburetor
obstructed.
1. Spark plug defective or incorrect gap.
2. Air cleaner dirty.
1. Spark plug gap incorrect.
2. Air cleaner dirty.
3. Engine cooling fins clogged.
4. Oil level too low.
5. Starter pulley clogged by grass cuttings,
etc..
1. Blade or engine bolts slack.
2. Blade unbalanced.
