GUIDE TO INSTALLATION

The DS6300 system can be installed by following either the instructions given in this manual
or in the DS6300 installation quick reference.
For a correct system installation follow the given procedure:
1) Read all information in the section Safety Notes;
2) Correctly position and mount the scanner for barcode reading according to the
information given in par. 2.1 and par. 2.3;
3) Provide correct system cabling according to the signals necessary (see all applicable
sub-paragraphs under par. 2.2);
4) Install the configuration CD-ROM and configure the software parameters from a host
computer using the Genius™ software tool;
5) Present the barcode pattern to the scanner at the reading distance required (see par. 2.3
for details);
Fine tuning of the reader position for barcode reading can be
accomplished using Test operating mode as described in par. 3.2.1.
NOTE
6) Reading result appears on the Genius™ graphical interface.
