TROUBLESHOOTING

[I think it is a bad idea to provide repair advice, if the repairs can only
be done by an authorized technician. The troubleshooting guide should
only suggest actions that are okay for an ordinary user.]
CAUTION: Only qualified technicians are authorized to do repairs on the
CT5200D/DX. If the recommended solutions do not solve the problem, please contact
your local Simadre dealer or the Simadre TECHS customer service .
Problem
While the ON/OFF switch
is "ON", the fan does not
run and the arc will not
start.
The "ON" light is on, but
the fan does not operate
and the arc will not start.
Little or no welding
current
White smoke at weld
while TIG welding
Tungsten electrode point
is quickly burned off
Fault indicator light is on,
and there is no current
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
1. A circuit breaker or fuse on the shop electrical supply
may have tripped or blown
2. The power cord may have a short circuit.
1. Possible over-voltage at the electrical supply.
2. Too-frequent switching on and off may be perceived by
the machine as over-voltage.
1. Make sure the welding torch cable is properly connected
to the CT5200D/DX
2. Make sure the grounding cable is properly connected to
the CT5200D/DX and to the workpiece
Inadequate argon flow.
1. argon tank may be empty
2. argon may be turned off
3. argon gas flow may be set too low

5. Possibly you are supplying air instead of argon to the
