General Safety Instructions

• Read these operating instructions
carefully since they are for your
safety. Be sure to follow the
applicable safety instructions.
• Since the Electric Trimmer is
connected to an electric power
source, dangerous situations can
occur if proper precautions are not
taken. Ignoring the following
safety precautions can result in life
threatening situations.
• The following rules must be
followed:
Prior to first time use of the
equipment, instructions on use of
the trimmer should be given by a
specialist or dealer.
The operator is responsible for the
safety of any third party present
within the operating range of the
electric trimmer.
Children should not be permitted
to operate the electric trimmer.
Loan the unit only to those persons
knowledgeable in it's operation
and safety precautions. If loaned
or sold, the operators manual
should accompany the trimmer. If
lost, a replacement is available
from SOLO.
The trimmer should only be used
by a physically fit person. Take
frequent breaks. Do not drink
alcohol prior to or during
operation! Use only cutting heads
and accessories approved by the
manufacturer. Do not use any
metallic cutting devices, including
blades. In the case of non-
compliance, the warranty is
voided.
Wear safety shoes with non-slip
soles and safety clothing
appropriate for the use with this
unit. Wear safety goggles when
operating trimmer. Wear ear
protectors. Do not wear a loose
fitting work coat, scarf, tie,
jewelry, etc., because of danger of
entanglement in branches and
bushes or equipment.

• The trimmer must be operated by
only one person. Bystanders
should not be permitted within a
15 meter/45 ft. working radius.
Avoid using near children or pets.
• Adjust the handle to permit proper
body posture before use.
• Always hold the trimmer with both
hands. Make sure you assume a
safe and steady stance when
trimming.
• Work only under favorable
lighting conditions. Avoid
endangering others.
• Check the work site for stones,
metal obj ects or other obj ects
and obstructions. Upon contact by
the cutter head, such objects can
be thrown, resulting in serious
injury. Avoid these obstructions.
• When striking an obstruction, the
operator may encounter a „kick"
(recoil motion) and may lose
control of the unit. Keep the
rotating cutting head close to the
ground.
• Be aware of environmental
conditions. Do not expose the
trimmer to rain. Do not use electric
trimmers in moist or wet conditions
- there is a danger of a short
circuit.
• Do not use trimmer near
flammable liquids or gases. Protect
yourself from electrocution. Avoid
bodily contact with grounded
parts and electrical grounds.
• Under extremely unfavorable
working conditions (such as
humidity, dust, etc.) the safety level
of operating with electricity can be
increased by the use of
