9. Set the column at it's mounting position and hand start all four column mounting bolts.
Securely tighten the column mounting bolts. Ensure that the column is securely fastened
and does not wiggle or move.
10. Reconnect the upper interconnect cable to the junction block.
11. Reconnect the interconnect cable to the J1 connector on the upper PCA.
12. Set the display housing at it's mounting position on the display backing plate. Replace and
tighten display housing mounting screws.
13. Replace the cover per Procedure 7.1.
14. Remove the display housing per Procedure 7.12, steps 1-4.
15. While supporting the column, remove the two large bolts that fastens the lower portion of the
column to the main frame. Carefully move the column away from the bike frame, taking care
not to damage the cables shown in Diagram 6.2. Lay the column on the floor near the front
of the bike.
16. Extract both cables from the column.
17. Set the replacement column on the floor near the front of the bike. Feed both cables
removed in step 16 into the replacement column.
18. Attach the rubber boot, from the original column, to the bottom of the replacement column.
Carefully feed the cables into the column and the main frame as you move the column into
its mounting position.
19. Hand start both of the column mounting bolts removed in step 15. Securely tighten both
column mounting bolts.
20. Reconnect the interconnect cable to the J1 connector on the upper PCA. Connect the hand
held heart rate cable to J4 of the hand held heart rate PCA (C846i & C846 version 2 only).
21. Set the display housing at it's mounting position on the display backing plate. Replace and
tighten display housing mounting screws.
