Front Panel Board

To replace the front panel board:
1. Turn off power to the server and unplug the AC power cords from the power source.
2. Remove the bezel and the front access cover (pages 30 and 32).
3. Disconnect the cables from front panel board: the front panel board ribbon cable, the USB port
cable, and the serial port cable.
One end of the front panel board is inserted into a slot in the chassis and the other end is secured
with a screw and a snap-top standoff.
4. Remove the screw that secures the front panel board to the chassis.
5. Grasp the end of the board closest to the side of the chassis and pull to disengage the board from
the standoff.
6. Rotate the free end of the board out until the USB and serial ports clear the chassis, disengage
the other end of the board from the slot in the chassis, and lift the board clear of the chassis.
7. Position the end of the replacement board in the slot in the chassis and rotate the free end of the
board into position, snapping it down over the standoff.
8. Install the retaining screw.
9. Connect the front panel board ribbon cable to the front panel board.
10. Connect the USB and serial port cables to the front panel board.
11. Install the front access cover and the bezel.
