DRIVING A NAIL

Always drive a test nail in a scrap
workpiece of the same type as the good
workpiece. This action will verify the depth
setting and the most effective speed to
drive the nail.
While driving a test nail, experiment with
the speed. Generally, you will use lower
speeds to start nailing and for driving
larger nails into hardwoods.
