Installing a USB devices
Power off your computer.(
Do not shut down using the suspend or hibernation mode.

Connect the USB device to your computer.
NOTE
Even a USB device connected during Windows 2000 start up may not
operate. In such cases, restart the computer.
For more detailed information, refer to the operation manual of the USB
device.
CAUTION
When a USB device is connected, there are cases the suspend or hiberna-
tion function will not operate in a normal manner due to the USB device. In
addition, a USB device may have to be removed temporarily and the com-
puter restarted in cases where the computer is unable to start up properly.
You may need to install a driver for your USB devices (for Windows 2000).
Follow the on-screen instructions and refer to the operation manual for
USB devices on how to install the driver.
Removing a USB device
CAUTION
Do not remove a USB device while your computer is in the suspend* or
hibernation mode.
* With Windows 2000, the "Suspend" is called "Standby".
Double-click
on the task tray and select the USB device, then press
[Stop].
(When removing a USB device after turning off the computer, this step
is not need.)
