Three-phase alternator
Due to
major
differences in
the
opcm

c haracte ristics of the three
-phaso alt orna
tor and the DC generator
, the follow1 nq
points
have
to be observed
:
1.

alternator
cable, nor
a ballo ry lrn
minal may be
loosened,
removed or
wrongly con nected

Tow-sta
rt
the vehicle
only
with
tho l>al
teries connected.
4.10.2 Fuses
All points
of
co
nnection
must be 1
n
pos1l1vt1
contact
with each
other.
For
return
of
thl'
cur
rent, make sure all power
consuming
units are
well
grounded.
Damaged cab les
must
be
insulated by
means
of
insulating tape
.
Faulty fuses
must be replaced instead of
repaired.
An
additiona
l
set of
fuses
and
bulb
s should
always be carr ied in the vehicle for emer
genc
ies.

Only after
pos itive and
negat
ive
cab le
tor
rninals have
been
removed from the
tc1rninal
posts may the batteries be
charged by means
of
a rapid
charger.

the cause
of a burnt
out
fuso prior to rep lacing
the fuse.
Prior to

ng work on the elec
trical
system,
tho negative(-)
battery term
inals
must
be disco
nnected from the battery
posts.
Objects
liable to conduct
elect
ri-
city (tools)
must
not be
put
on top
of
the
batteries
because they
might
ca use
short
s.
