4.9.1 Checking the brake lines
Inspect brake lines for leaks and qood
condition periodicall y. Brake lines must I >t•
replaced if signs of corrosion (pittinq)
chafing, crushing etc. are visible.
Brake lines showing even minor dam11(Jl'
must be replaced .
4.9.2 Checking brake lining thickness
Front wheel brakes (disk brakes)
Minimum lining thickne ss: 2,0 mm (0 8 1n)
When minimum lining th ickness is
reached, replace brake pads immediately
Check lining thickness th rough one of the
openings in the disk wheels (use a light for
visual inspection ). Rotate disk wheels if
required.

For a c loser inspect ion of the brake linings,
detac h front wheels and remove brake
pads.
This adjustme nt requires special sk ills
and shou ld only be performed at a
MERCEDES-BENZ service station.
