- Compatible with the type of plug installed on the ma-
chine;
- Suitably sized to comply with the data on the plate at-
tached to the appliance;
- Connected to an effi cient earthing system.
• The power cord must not:
- Come into contact with any type of liquid: danger of
electric shocks and/or fi re;
- Be crushed and/or come into contact with sharp sur-
faces;
- Be used to move the machine;
- Be used if damaged. If the power cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer or by its author-
ised service centre;
- Be handled with damp or wet hands;
- Be wound in a coil when the machine is in use;
- Be tampered with.
• It is forbidden to:
- Install the machine in diff erent ways than those de-
scribed;
- Insert your fi ngers and/or any other object inside the
capsule compartment. Danger of scalding!
- Install the machine in a location where water jets may
be used;
- Use the machine outside, in proximity to fl ammable
and/or explosive materials;
- Leave plastic bags, polystyrene, nails, etc. within the
reach of children as they are sources of potential haz-
ards;
- Let children play and stand near the machine. Children
are not aware of the risks related to electric household
appliances;
- Use spare parts not recommended by the manufactur-
ing company;
- Make any technical modifi cations to the machine.
- Immerse the machine in any kind of liquid;
- Wash the machine using a water jet;
- Use the machine in ways diff erent than those described
in the manual;
- Use the machine in altered psychophysical conditions,
under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol, medicine etc.;
- Install the machine on top of other appliances;
- Use the machine in explosive or harsh environments, or
with high concentration of dust or oily substances sus-
pended in the air;
- Use the machine in an environment where there is a risk
of fi re;
- Use the machine to dispense substances other than
those it is designed for.
• Before cleaning the machine, ensure that the plug is discon-
nected from the power socket; do not wash the machine
with fuel and/or solvents of any kind.
• Each repair can only be performed by a Service Centre Au-
thorised by the Manufacturer and/or by a specialised and
trained personnel.
• Do not clog grills placed in the machine.
• Do not place the machine near heating equipment (such as
stoves or radiators).
• In case of fi re, use carbon dioxide (CO
use water or dry powder extinguishers.

4. INSTALLING THE MACHINE

Note: In the machine there may be traces of cof-
fee; these are due to the testing conducted by the
Manufacturer to guarantee maximum product quality.
Correctly install the machine before starting it.
After removing the machine from the packaging, proceed as fol-
lows:
• Place the machine inside a closed building and on a stable
horizontal surface;
• Make sure it is not accessible to children;
• Make sure there is enough space to perform all required op-
erations (use, maintenance, etc.);
• Keep it away from hot surfaces or open fl ames; keep the
machine at a distance of approximately 15 centimetres from
other devices.
It is also advisable to avoid placing the machine in spaces of tran-
sit or narrow hallways, to avoid being struck.
Before operating the machine for the fi rst time, it
is necessary to carry out a thorough cleaning of its
parts. For further details, see the related section.
We recommend keeping the packaging for future transfers or
transportation.
