Diagnostics Procedure without Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
Step
1
CHECK BRAKE FLUID AMOUNT.
Check the amount of brake fluid in reservoir
tank of master cylinder.

CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SWITCH.
1) Disconnect the level switch connector (B16)
from master cylinder.
2) Measure the resistance of master cylinder
terminals.
Terminals
No. 1 — No. 2:

CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH.
1) Disconnect the connector (R4) from park-
ing brake switch.
2) Release the parking brake.
3) Measure the resistance between parking
brake switch terminal and chassis ground.

CHECK GROUND SHORT OF HARNESS.
1) Disconnect the connector form ABSCM&H/
U.
2) Disconnect the connector (i12) from combi-
nation meter.
3) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

CHECK POOR CONTACT IN ABSCM&H/U.
Check
Is the brake fluid amount
between "MAX" line and "MIN"
line?
Is the resistance more than 1
MΩ?
Is the resistance more than 1
MΩ?
Does the brake warning light
go off?
Is there poor contact in
ABSCM&H/U connector?
ABS-41
ABS (DIAGNOSTIC)
Yes
Go to step 2.
Fill the brake fluid
to specified
amount.
Go to step 3.
Replace the mas-
ter cylinder.
Go to step 4.
Replace the park-
ing brake switch.
Go to step 5.
Repair the har-
ness.
Repair the con-
Replace the
nector.
ABSCM only.
