    Owners Information Owners Information Caution This appliance and its individual shut off valve must be disconnected from gas supply piping system during any pressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of 1/2 psig (3.5 kPa). This appliance must be isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing its individual manual shut off valve during any pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at test pressures equal to or less than 1/2 psig (3.5 kPa).

    Owners Information Installation Requirements The Heli-Fire installation and venting must conform to the current CAN/CGA-B149 installation code (in Canada) or the current National Fuel Gs Code, ANSI Z223.1 (in the USA), and approved per local codes. Only quali ed (licensed or trained) personnel should install this product. In the state of Massachusetts, only a licensed Plumber and Gas Fitter may install this product.

    Owners Information First Fire When lit for the rst time, the re feature may emit a slight odor for a couple of hours. This is due to the curing of paints, sealants and lubricants used in the manufacturing process. This condition is temporary. Open doors and windows to ventilate area.

    Owners Information Heli-Fire Orientation The Heli-Fire is unique in that it can be oriented in any position but must be mounted so that the glass door is in a vertical plane. The exception being that the Heli-Fire cannot be installed at in a oor or ceiling.

    Installers Information Installers Information Framing and Finishing Note: The Heli-Fire should be in place and venting installed before framing in or building an enclosure around the unit. Because of the relatively low temperatures radiating from the Heli-Fire, clearances from combustible framing and facing materials are not such an issue as it would be if a traditional replace were being installed.

Exhaust vent pipe requires a minimum 1/4 inch clearance to combustible materials. If insulating this area, non-combustible rockwall must be used.     Installers Information Wall Switch The Heli-Fire is controlled by a stan- dard wall switch which should be installed by an electrician. While the wall switch is included with the Heli-Fire, the wiring for the wall switch is not included . In Canada, a thermostat can be used for installations in a bed room or a bed sitting room.

    Installers Information Venting Requirements Exterior wall opening: Determine the exact position of the Heli-Fire so that the venting pipe is centered between two building framing members. Consult your local building codes prior to proceeding. IMPORTANT: When locating the opening, it should be noted that venting terminal clearances must be maintained.

    Installers Information Vent Stand-Offs A 1/4 inch space is required between the exible venting material and any combustible surface. Stud supports are used to support both studs and the exible venting material as it passes through the studs. Vent stand-offs (Figure 35 & Figure 36) are used to maintain a 1/4 inch space between combustible surfaces (Figure 37) and the exible venting material.
