    Checking Your Package 2.1.1 Accessories and Consumables The software (CD-ROM) contains the printer driver, operation manuals, and other items. The printer includes toner cartridges K, Y, M and C (one of each), a waste toner pack, a belt cartridge and a fuser unit, all are consumables. The toner cartridge in the starter kit is more nearly little than Standard con- sumable.

    Preparing the printer Preparing the printer Install the consumables into the printer. 2.6.1 Toner Cartridges Install the toner cartridges for all four colors into the printer. Handle the toner cartridge with its label facing upward. Do not install the NOTE: cartridge upside-down or reverse it.

NOTES: The photosensitive belt is very sensitive to light. If this belt is exposed to light of no less than 800 lux for no less than 2 minutes, it deteriorates, causing troubles in the images printed.

Close the top cover by push- ing it until it locks. While closing, keep holding the top cover until you close it to the locked position.

    Functions of Control Keys Functions of Control Keys The control panel has six control keys that operate in two different modes: normal mode and panel menu mode.
