Actions on Print Quality Problems

Take appropriate actions on print quality problems according to symptoms.
Overall print is lighter than normal print, fill area on graphics show blank
areas, white stripes appear in the printout, or small characters or hairlines do
not print sharp.
Possible cause
A toner cartridge is becom-
ing empty.
More than one sheet has
been picked.
The media is damaged or
extremely dry.
The media is not in compli-
ance with the printer's
specifications.
The media type specified
on the printer driver is
incorrect.
Save Toner is enabled on
the printer driver.
The print mode on the
printer driver is set to Stan-
dard or High Speed.
The original graphic image
is light in itself.
Projections are dark or blurry (OHP film or transparency)
Toner has peeled off (thick paper or label)
Too glossy (Plain paper)
Possible cause
An incorrect media type is
specified on the printer
driver.
Actions on Print Quality Problems
Action
This symptom may occur when printing a
large image. Replace the toner cartridge
for applicable color.
Print again.
Use new print media fresh from its pack-
age.
Use the media in compliance with the
printer's specifications.
Change the media type setting to the cor-
rect one.
Turn off Save Toner.
Set the print mode to High Quality.
Increase the density value on the printer
driver.

Match the media type with the print media.
