ADJUSTING THE SHIFT PEDAL
TIP
The shift pedal position is determined by the
installed shift rod length "a".
1. Measure:
• Installed shift rod length "a"
Incorrect → Adjust.

2. Adjust:
• Installed shift rod length

a. Loosen both locknuts "1".
b. Turn the shift rod "2" in direction "a" or "b" to
obtain the correct shift pedal position.
Direction "a"
Installed shift rod length increases.
Direction "b"
Installed shift rod length decreases.
c. Tighten both locknuts.
d. Make sure the installed shift rod length is
within specification.

CHECKING THE SIDESTAND
1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.

WARNING
Securely support the vehicle so that there
is no danger of it falling over.
TIP
Place the vehicle on a suitable stand so that
the sidestand is elevated.
2. Check:
Unsmooth operation → Replace the defec-
tive part(s).

LUBRICATING THE SIDESTAND
Lubricate the pivoting point and metal-to-metal
moving parts of the sidestand.
Recommended lubricant
Lithium-soap-based grease

CHECKING THE FRONT FORK
1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.

WARNING
Securely support the vehicle so that there
is no danger of it falling over.
2. Check:
• Inner tube
Damage/scratches → Replace.
• Oil seal
Oil leakage → Replace.
3. Hold the vehicle upright and apply the front
brake.
4. Check:
• Front fork operation
Push down hard on the handlebar several
times and check if the front fork rebounds
smoothly.
Rough movement → Repair.
Refer to "FRONT FORK" on page 4-61.
