A. Rear speed sensor system malfunction
Item/components and
probable cause
1 Connection of rear speed
sensor (meter) coupler
Check the connection of the
coupler is secure.
Remove the coupler, and
check each pin (for bending,
wear, or locking).
2 Connection of main harness
ECU coupler
Check the connection of the
coupler is secure.
Remove the coupler, and
check each pin (for bending,
wear, or locking).
3 Continuity of wire harness
4 Rear speed sensor malfunc-
tion
Refer to "CHECKING THE
REAR SPEED SENSOR" on
page 8-141.
5 Malfunction of the ECU or
speedometer.
FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
Check or maintenance job
Poor connection → Connect
it securely, or repair/replace
the wire harness.
Poor connection → Connect
it securely, or repair/replace
the wire harness.
Open or short circuit →
Replace the wire harness.
Black/Blue–Black/Blue
Blue–Blue
White/Yellow–White/Yellow
Replace the rear speed sen-
sor.
Replacement of the ECU or
speedometer.
