STARTING THE ENGINE
1.17
1.17
TO START THE ENGINE
Continued.
Operate the key switch: (Code 341S only). Stand behind
the mower and maintain a firm hold on the handlebar and
the engine stop lever to prevent the mower from moving.
Using your left hand turn the ignition key clockwise and
hold in position to crank the engine. When the engine starts
release the key.
NOTE: Engine starter motor life is prolonged by using
short start cycles of several seconds. Cranking the engine
for more than 15 seconds every minute can damage the
starter motor.
If the engine does not start - refer to "Fault Finding".
Allow the engine to warm up and return the throttle lever to
the 'fast' position after starting a cold engine.
NOTE: If necessary the engine can be started manually
without using the key switch - refer to "Operate the engine
start - grip".
IMPORTANT - PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE: Do not
operate the ignition key when the engine is running.
