F . PHASE—Press to reverse the phase of the INPUT
circuit, useful for reducing "regenerative" feedback
when you are standing at a particular distance
from the amplifier. You can also reduce feedback
by changing your position or distance from the
amplifier.
G . AURAL ENHANCER—Featured on just about every
SWR amplifier since the company's inception in
, the Aural Enhancer delivers that famous
SWR Sound! It brings out the fundamental notes
of the guitar, enhances the high-end transients,
and reduces specific frequencies that mask the
fundamentals. This provides a more transparent
sound that opens up the sibilance characteristics of
all instruments without being harsh.
How the AURAL ENHANCER Works: Think of it as
a variable tone control that changes frequency
range AND level according to where you set the
AURAL ENHANCER control. As you rotate the control
clockwise from the "MIN" position, you are elevating
low– mid– and high–frequencies different than
those of the active tone controls. T he " o'clock"
position—a favorite of many players—brings out
both low-end fundamentals and crisp highs, plus
lower midrange, to help cut through the band. As
you go further clockwise, selected mids centered
around Hz start to drop off. While apparent,
the response curves involved here are gentle, as
opposed to the extreme curves you can create with
the active tone controls.

equalization:
• BASS—Adjusts low-frequency response ±dB
centered around the Hz range. This range
provides punch and fullness to your sound.
• MID—Adjusts mid-frequency response ±dB
centered around the Hz range. This range is
critical for most instruments and depends on your
situation. What may sound harsh while playing
alone may sound just right in a crowded room, or
on a recording.
• TREBLE—Adjusts high-frequency response ±dB
in the .kHz range. This range adds bright sparkle
to your sound. Because high frequencies are
directional by nature, it is important to listen from
different angles to find the best TREBLE setting
and the optimum placement for your amplifier.
EFX BLEND—Functional only when a plug is
inserted into the EFFECTS RETURN {S} jack, this knob
sets your effects level by controlling the amount of
"wet" effects loop signal blended into the "dry"
preamp signal.
