Notes on Energy Saving

The AMP 8 satisfies the requirements of the latest directives concerning
energy-saving measures (EuP directive). The modern design of the
mains power supply makes an important contribution to this.
The internal micro-processor constantly ensures that sub-assemblies
which are not currently required are automatically switched off. The
micro-processor itself operates in stand-by mode at a relatively low clock
speed.
In stand-by mode the current drain of the AMP 8 is less than 0.2 Watt.
If you intend not to use the amplifier for a long period, it should be
disconnected from the mains socket, i.e. the mains plug should be
withdrawn from the wall socket or switch off the main switch.
The AMP 8 features an automatic power-on circuit. If the amplifier
detects a music signal at one of its inputs, it automatically switches itself
on. If no music signal is detected for a period longer than 20 minutes, the
AMP 8 automatically switches to stand-by mode.
