5-14 Instruments and Controls
ENGINE COOLANT
TEMPERATURE GAUGE
C
Displays the engine coolant tempera-
ture.
If the gauge pointer moves towards the
H, the engine is too hot.
"C" refers to "COLD STATE";
"H" refers to "HOT STATE".
This reading indicates the same thing as
the warning light. It means that the
engine coolant has overheated. If the
vehicle has been operating under
normal driving conditions, pull off the
road, stop the vehicle, and turn off the
engine as soon as possible. See "Engine

CONTROL INDICATOR
LIGHTS
The control indicator lights described
in this Manual may not appear on all
models. This instruction applies to all
instrument types. When the ignition
switch is turned to II/ON position, as a
H
function test, most of the control
indicator lights will be illuminated for a
short period.
The color of a control indicator light
means:
Red
Yellow = Warning, information, fault
Green = Activation confirmed
Blue
= Danger, important reminder
= Activation confirmed
LOW FUEL WARNING
LIGHT
This light comes on when the fuel tank
is low on fuel. When fuel is added, the
light should go off. If it does not, have
the vehicle serviced.
Caution
Do not let your vehicle run out of
fuel. This can damage the catalytic
converter.
When this warning light illuminates,
please fill the fuel tank as soon as
possible. See "Fuel" on page 8-26.
