    ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Installing and removing the battery IMPORTANT! The battery pack is not charged when it is purchased. Before using the trimmer for the first time, charge the battery. See Charging Procedure (Fig. 4) for further instructions. To Remove 1. Press in and hold the latch buttons (1) on both sides of the battery pack. 2.
  • Page 10 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Blade DANGER If the hedge trimmer blade jams or gets caught on an electrical cord or wires, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE FOR ANY REASON! IT CAN BE ELECTRICALLY LIVE AND CAUSE SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURY. Release or drop the trimmer in the quickest safest way. If possible, disconnect the damaged electrical cord or line from its power source.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS On/Off Switch The hedge trimmer has a power switch and a lock-out button that are used together to prevent accidental start-ups or injury. 1. Place one hand on the trigger handle (1). Place the other hand on the handle (2).

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Charging Procedure (Fig. 4 ) With regular use, the battery pack will need 90 MINUTES or less to fully charge. Allow the battery to fully discharge before recharging. It is recommended to charge the battery pack every 3 months when not in use. Plug the charger into an AC power outlet.
  • Page 13 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Checking the Charge If the battery pack does not charge properly: • Check the current at the power outlet with another tool. Make sure that the outlet is not turned off. Charger Maintenance • Keep the charger clean and clear of debris. Do not allow foreign material into the recessed cavity or on the contacts. Wipe with a dry cloth.
