The Medi@ TV set-top box, in its factory-default state, is not assigned a network address. You
should select which network interface to use (DHCP or fixed IP).
If you make a mistake during network setup, power-off the set-top box and power it back on
again. It will restart the network setup.

ELECTING A LANGUAGE
By default, your Packard Bell Medi@ TV's on-screen controls are diplayed in the English lan-
guage. The controls are also available in French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian.
Turn on the set-top box, and you will see the following screen. Select your preferred language.

SSIGNING AN
ADDRESS
1. After you have selected the language, the set-top box will ask how to assign an IP address:
Automatic or manual.
If you are connecting the PC and Medi@ TV using a hub, select 'Automatic (DHCP)'. This
will allow the set-top box to get its IP address automatically from a DHCP server built into
the hub.
If you are connecting the PC and Medi@ TV using a crossed LAN cable, we also recommed
you to select 'Automatic (DHCP)'. If you do not want to use that function, select 'Input Static
IP Address'. You should then enter the IP address and subnet mask of the set-top box man-
ually using the remote control.
2. If you select 'Automatic (DHCP)', the network setup is completed, and you will see the con-
firmation dialogue. Pressing the <OK> button will reboot the set-top box.
