ONNECTING WITH
The Medi@ TV set-top box scans Medi@ TV servers in the local network when it is booted, and
lets the user select one from the search result.
If there is only one server found in the local network, it will skip the server selection dialogue
and connect to that server. After the user selects a server from the list, the initialization process
proceeds.
Note: If the Medi@ TV set-top box cannot find any servers in the network, it will display a
list with only <Rescan> and <Cancel>. Choose <Rescan> to retry scanning. If it continu-
ously fails to find a server, you should check if the network setup of the set-top box and PC
is correct. To do this, choose <Cancel> from the list and choose the <network> button on
the Home screen. Refer to 'Part 1. Installation' for details.
Note: if there are two or more servers in the network, you can connect to another server
by pressing the <#> key of the remote control at Medi@ TV's Home screen. It will restart
scanning for available servers.

After searching and connecting Medi@ TV Server, you will see Medi@ TV Viewer Home on the
initial screen. Depending on your PC's performance and network conditions, this may take 10
to 20 seconds.
On this screen, you can move to Music, Video, and Photo view modes. Even when you move
to other screens, pressing the [
] button on your remote control always brings you back to this
screen. To set up the general options of the Viewer, press the [option] button. To see network
settings, press [network] and then press [OK].
Note: If you reset or turn off your PC while running Medi@ TV, a dialogue box saying
'Network disconnected' may pop up. This is a message that appears during temporary con-
nection failure between PC and Medi@ TV, so you can simply press the [OK] button on the
remote control.
