CONNECTIONS
Do not connect the mains lead to an AC outlet until all
connections
have been made.
Voltage selectors
Before use, set both VOLTAGE SELECTORS
on the rear
of the unit to the positions which correspond to the voltage
in the area of use. Use an ordina~ screwdriver or similar
implement to make the setting, as shown in Fig. 2.
Speakers
(Fig. 3)
When connecting the speakers,
make sure that (+) and
(-) polarities are matched properly. Otherwise, the sound
may appear to be lacking in the bass range and in stability,
Connect the speaker wire with the stripe to the red terminal
(+) and the other wire to the black terminal (-).
At the speakers:
1. Insert the wires while pressing down on the levers of the
terminals.
2. Release the levers once the wires have been inserted.
At the main unit:
1. Set the levers to their left and right positions and insert
the wires.
2. Return the levers to their original positions once the
wires have been inserted.
- Place the speakers away from the main unit for good
ventilation. The sound may be broken or intermittent if
the speakers are placed close to the main unit.
Connecting
the aerials
Accessofy indoor AM and FM aerials (Fig. 4)
-
Mount the accessory AM aerial in the aerial holder
(supplied) and place it in a position which yields the best
AM reception or attach the aerial holder to a wall or other
surface,
Noise will affect the operation of the system if the aerial
is positioned close to the system or TV set. Place it as far
away as possible.
- The indoor FM aerial is secured to a wall, lintel or other
such surface for use. It should be extended as straight
as possible and secured in a position which yields
minimal distortion and noise.
Optional outdoor FM aerial (Fig. 5)
-
Disconnect the indoor FM aerial and connect an outdoor
FM aerial instead when noise interferes with reception or
when faroff stations are to be received but the indoor
aerial is found to be inadequate for the task.
- The aerial lead is normally connected to the "D)(" termi-
nal. However, when the broadcasting stations are too
close and their signals are too strong, the sound may
become distorted or intermittent, and noise may be
heard. [n cases Iike this, connect the lead to the "LO"
terminal.
-
Follow the numbered sequence in the figure to shape
the end of the lead, and connect it.
Consult with your dealer if you have any queries or ques-
tions related to the selection, installation and connection of
the aerials,
