4.1 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Enginewon't start.
1. Nofuel in tank.
2. Fuelvalve turned off.
3. Defectivespark plug.
4. Pluggedfuel filter.
5. Defectiveor stuck engine stop switch.
1. Add fuel to tank.
2. Turnfuel valve on.
3. Replacespark plug.
4. Replacefuel filter.
5. Replaceengine start switch.

Enginestarts, then shuts down.
1. Low fuel level.
2. Fueltank vent closed.
3. Incorrect engine oil level.
4. Contaminatedfuel.
5. Defectivelow oil level switch.
6. Defectiveignition coil.
1. Add fuel to tank.
2. Openfuel tank vent.
3. Check engine oil level, add or drain as needed.
4. Replacefuel filter.
5. ReplaceLow Oil Level switch.
6. Replaceignition coil.
Enginestarts, then runs rough.
1. Choke is stuck or left on.
2. Dirty or clogged air filter.
3. Defectiveor dirty spark plug.
4. Dirty fuel filter.
5. DefectiveFlexPowerswitch.
1. Turnchoke off.
2. Clean or replacethe air filter element.
3. Replacespark plug.
4. Replacefuel filter.
5. ReplaceFlexPowerswitch.
No AC output. 1. Generatoris overloaded (OVERLOAD LEDis on).
2. AC voltage is low (OVERLOAD LEDis on).
3. Inverter module is overheated(OVERLOAD LEDis
on).
4. Short circuit in load (OVERLOAD LEDis on).
5. Defectiveinverter assembly.
1. Shut down generatorto reset module. Reduce
loads and restart generator.
2. Verify vent is open and choke is OFF.
3. Verify service door is ON. Let cool for 15 minutes
and restart generator.
4. Verify condition of any extensioncords and all
loads being powere.
5. Replaceinverter assembly.
No DCoutput. ** 1. DCcircuit breakeris open. 1. Reset DC circuit breaker.
2. DefectiveDCcircuit breaker. 2. ReplaceDC circuit breaker.
3. Defectiverectifier. 3. Replacerectifier.

Fuelleaksfrom drain hoses. 1. Fuelsystem over primed (flooded). 1. Turnvent in cap ON and let generatorsit 15
minutes before restarting.
2. Carburetordrain in bowl is not closed. 2. Turnvalve clockwise to close.
* Engine speed increases and decreases -- This is normal as the generator starts up and as loads vary.
** Verify FlexPowerSwitch is in the "O"OFFposition.
