8.10.1 Engines with visible flywheel and O.T. marking

1. Switch off engine and let it cool down to the ambient
temperature.
2. Unscrew the nuts (1) on the valve cover (2) and remove
plastic seals, valve cover and valve cover gasket.
3. Detach the high pressure line (3) on the injection nozzle
holder in order to prevent accidental starting of the engine.
4. Turn automatic decompression to operating position (1), pin
faces forward (9 o'clock position).
NOTE!
The decompression must be turned off at the valve
adjustment (operating position: pin faces forward:
9 o'clock position), only in this way is a correct
adjustment of the valve clearance guaranteed.
