The engine is started with e.g. a key switch. CAUTION! Damage due to starting while the engine is running! Incorrect operation of the starter can damage it.

Fuel escaping from the injection system can penetrate the skin and eyes due to the high pressure and cause severe injuries. Perform thorough external cleaning of the engine. Drain engine oil and fill engine with approx. 1.0 litre of corrosion protection oil.

    Diesel engine Series 15W / 18W Maintenance Check oil drain plug (1) for damage and replace if necessary. Always replace the copper seal (2). Screw in oil drain plug by hand and tighten with e.g. ring spanner SW 13. Tightening torque: 12 Nm Fig.
