NOTE: Exercise caution when you install the system board into the chassis, because installing
the system board may cause damage to the optical drive cable connector that is connected to
front of the system board.

Push the system board toward the back of the chassis until the release pin on the board clicks into
place.
NOTE: Ensure that the two tabs at the back of the system board engage with the slots on the
chassis.

Cable management tray

Hard drive backplane
m. Internal USB key, if removed

Optical drive

Reconnect the cables to the system board, hard drive backplane, control panel board, and the
optical drive cable.
NOTE: Ensure that the cables inside the system are routed along the chassis wall and secured
using the shimstock pieces.

Follow the procedure listed in
4.
Ensure that you perform the following steps:
a.
Use the Easy Restore feature to restore the service tag. For more information, see
Service Tag using the Easy Restore
b.
If the service tag is not backed up in the backup flash device, enter the system service tag
manually. For more information, see
c.
Update the BIOS and iDRAC versions.
d.
Re-enable the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). For more information, see
for TXT
users.
5.
Import your new or existing iDRAC8 Enterprise license. For more information, see iDRAC8 User's
Guide, at Dell.com/esmmanuals.
