(1) This appliance must be installed only in a solid-fuel burning fireplace with a working flue
and constructed of non-combustible materials.
(2) A minimum of 34 sq. in. (Min.6'chimney height) (Min. 7" diameter round flue), permanent
flue opening must be provided by either the fireplace chimney or chimney damper to vent the
flue gases.
(3) Solid fuels shall not be burned in a fireplace where a decorative appliance is installed.
(4) Any chimney damper must be fixed in a manner which will maintain the minimum permanent
vent opening at all times. This can be accomplished by using a DAMPER FLAP LOCK (shown
in figure 11) or by permanently fastening the damper open with screws, or removing the damper
flap from the damper opening.

WARNING:
A fireplace screen must be in place when the appliance is operating and,
unless other provisions for combustion air are provided, the screen shall have an opening(s)
for introduction of combustion air.
NOTE:
The venting system for this appliance must be checked once a year by a qualified
agency to insure that the venting system is clean and free of any obstructions that would de-
crease the venting capacity of the venting system, which may cause property damage or loss
of life.
