4-30 DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY
• Install the gasket 7 and cam chain tension adjuster cap bolt
8.
NOTE:
Replace the gasket 7 with a new one.
NOTE:
Click sound is heard when the cam chain tension adjuster cap
bolt 8 is installed.
• Tighten the cam chain tension adjuster cap bolt 8 to the
specified torque.
 Cam chain tension adjuster cap bolt:
NOTE:
After installing the cam chain tension adjuster, check to be sure
that the adjuster works properly by checking the slack of cam
chain.
• After installing the cam chain tension adjuster, rotate the
crankshaft (two turns), and recheck the positions of the cam-
shafts. (4-27)
NOTE:
After this procedure, if any resistance is felt while turning over
the crankshaft, stop immediately, and check the camshaft chain
timing.
• Inspect the valve clearance. (2-27)
• Apply grease to the O-rings 9.
NOTE:
Replace the O-rings 9 with new ones.
 99000-25010: SUZUKI SUPER GREASE "A"
• Tighten the TDC plug 0 and crankshaft hole plug A to the
specified torque.
 TDC plug: 14 N·m (1.4 kgf-m, 10.0 lbf-ft)
Crankshaft hole plug: 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.0 lbf-ft)
• Install the condenser.
23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
or equivalent
