18.5.22 Installing the piston

Position the inside alternator cover.

Mount and tighten screws

Position freewheel gear

Mount the starter idler gear with the washer.

Mount lock ring

Position the rotor.

Ensure that the spring washer is seated properly.

Mount and tighten screw

Shift the joint of the piston rings by 120°.
–
Place the special tool on the oiled piston. Compress the piston rings using the spe-
cial tool.
Piston ring mounting tool (60029015000) (
The piston rings are pushed together all the way.
