12.2.1 Adjusting Front Castors

• Remove the cap from the castor headtube.
• To properly tighten the castor journal system and guard it
against flutter, perform the following check:
• Tip back the wheelchair to floor.
• Pivot both forks and castors to top of their arc simultaneously.
• Let the castors drop to bottom of arc (wheels should swing
once to one side, then immediately rest in a straight
downward position).
• Adjust locknuts according to freedom of castor swing.
• Test the wheelchair for manoeuvrability.
• Readjust the locknuts if necessary, and repeat Steps 1-3
until correct.
• Snap the cap into the castor headtube.
